Praise for this book
he sense of nostalgia was there for me. Like how we'd go on missions--sneaking through the garage or onto the roof. And on an emotional level like how boring it could be if I got left home alone. And all the psycho analysis aside, it was just good clean fun!
I read this to my kids ages 8 to 5. Great cliff hangers, fun characters. I'd say a clever mix of Whinny the Pooh and Artimus Fowl, with adventure but a more wholesome innocence. Has a lot of fun word play that kept me laughing as an adult, even though some of it went over my kids head.
Just got done reading this to my kids as a bedtime story. Each night they kept asking for more.
It’s a delightful story full of humor, adventure, and imagination. Hugo is such a wonderful character. At first he seems mischievous, but as the story progresses you see that he isn’t out to cause trouble. He believes in something, and pursues what is right despite personal risk.
The cast of characters is a hoot. We particularly liked Adalina.
Anyway, highly recommended. You’ll enjoy it.
I have the first edition and I also bought it on kindle so I can read it myself. My kids and I love this book. It’s super cute. My dad even read it and he also loved it! My kids just finished 2nd and 3rd grade but I know that older kids would love it too. Highly recommend!
An exciting book for fans of all ages! We've enjoyed reading it together with our kids, and they've been fascinated by it.
